Envirocall leads Emma Bridgewater post-fire clean-up

In August six fire crews tackled a blaze at the Emma Bridgewater factory site in Lichfield Street, Stoke-on-Trent. The fire caused significant damage to the factory.

Through its partnership with Unitas, Envirocall has been appointed to undertake the environmental clean-up of the fire-damaged parts of the factory.

The urgent need to get the whole factory back into working order as soon as possible, coupled with Envirocall's excellent track record for helping clients overcome critical obstacles, made the company the natural choice to lead the clean-up operation.

Envirocall is deploying 14 personnel working in shifts, for 12 hours a day, seven days a week, over a period of eight weeks to clear the site, ahead of rebuilding work.

"We are delighted and honoured to be able to assist Emma Bridgewater in this way," says Mick Tynan, managing director of Envirocall. "It is a credit to the strength of our partnership with Unitas that we have been chosen, and a vote of the highest confidence in the ability, commitment, and professionalism of our employees."

Emma Bridgewater is an important contributor to the economy of Stoke. It employs more than 270 people and adds more than £5m each year to the local economy.

The company is one of the few enduring 'Potteries' success stories in a sector that has seen more than 20,000 people lose their jobs since the turn of the century.
