The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 place a specific duty (Regulation 4 – Duty to Manage) for the management of asbestos materials upon a nominated responsible person – this is usually the person responsible for the maintenance/repair of the premises.
Management encompasses the identification of asbestos materials and a written plan of action to prioritise the assessed risks.
